My experience at Caron (PA) was life changing! I felt safe, cared for, understood and respected. I experienced a well trained, educated and nurturing staff. My sober journey started at Caron and solid building blocks of recovery were set before I moved to my next level of care. I am forever grateful!

I thought Caron was just about a "cure" for my son. Boy was I wrong! I was "helped" (therapeutically dragged kicking and screaming) to open myself to an understanding about our family and the role we all played in our son's addiction. This family insight, instilled by the Caron - "It's about the Family"- philosophy, is what carried my wife and I along and SUPPORTED US IN OUR RECOVERY and our son's recovery (his job, not ours). This route may not work for everyone, but we are healthier and a more loving family for it. Thank you, Caron Foundation!

Caron is an excellent treatment center and I refer regularly to Caron among other top tiered rehabs. In fact, I'm saving a little money each month so that when my kids are 27 I'll be able to send them here if they have a substance use disorder...I'm only half joking. I would definitely send my kids here, and yes it is my worst fear that they would struggle with the same genetic predisposition towards addiction that I have had and also only half joking about having to save money in order to afford treatment at Caron. That said, in the right circumstance after all attempts at outpatient therapy have failed initially I would definitely consider inpatient at Caron. Inpatient treatment is only a a beginning for addiction recovery which is a life long illness and outpatient therapy should obviously follow inpatient and be tried first adequately in most situations before inpatient as most people need several attempts at addiction recovery. Caron is a traditional twelve step facilitation treatment center like about 85% of facilities in the United States so if you're not a fan of Alcoholics Anonymous then this is not the place for you. There are a number of excellent non 12-step facilitation oriented treatment centers like The Center for Motivation and Change so just ask an addiction psychologist to help you determine which treatment center is best for you. Caron has improved over the years in its open-mindedness to alternative treatment approaches and now offers more holistic approaches such as Mindfulness Based approaches and (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) CBT and DBT-like approaches since there are greater number of psychologists running the show (I'm not sure whether any of them are in recovery themselves but that is worth asking) and a good indicator of Caron's awareness and dedication to mental health and not just addiction counseling is that they actually have a psychiatrist as their medical director which is far better than just having a physician as medical director. The cost is definitely high and no one will argue about that so if your insurance really doesn't pay in network do be careful about checking the particulars about out of network and self pay costs which can be prohibitive. At one thousand dollars a day, passing the basket at AA and putting your one dollar bill in it once a day can be a pretty compelling alternative. In 2009 I entered the Caron foundation and it forever altered the shape and trajectory of my life. I have been able to celebrate continuous sobriety and have a nucleus of support I developed at Caron. I cannot recommend this treatment center enough whether it’s for you or a loved one. There is no greater attention to detail and no better approach to treating addiction than the Caron foundation.

As a parent of a Caron Alumni we found the experience to be exactly what our loved one needed to begin recovery. We also were welcomed and educated in the Family Education Program. F.E.P. proved to be extremely helpful in understanding addiction as well as understanding our role in supporting our loved ones sobriety while not enabling addictive behaviors or actions. I Highly recommend Caron!

My experience at Caron Renaissance has given me a quality of life that I had not anticipated. The staff worked tirelessly to provided me with a new beginning, my family relationships were improved so that we once again cherish our time together, and they helped me build a life of sobriety and internal happiness.

I’ve been to many different treatment centers, however Caron was different. I heard messages that I left with mainting sobriety. The staff and clinical team are the best. They really work with you to make you comfortable and find the right medications. I would highly recommend Caron to anyone suffering from addiction.

I attended the breakthrough program a few years ago and I’m still in awe of the awareness and shifts that resulted from being a participant. Life changing and highly recommended for anyone struggling to make profound changes in how they cope with life.

I was at Caron a couple years ago when I was 15 or 16 and it truly saved my life. i stayed for 6 months and if I didn't i would have been dead. The people I met at Caron were more caring and genuine then any friends I've ever had. I am 20 years old now and when I look back at the time that I stayed at Caron I am so grateful for that place. It saved me emotionally, physically, spiritually in ways that would require me to write a whole book on. I have a very complex past and the therapist that I had I believe that her name was Amanda was able to get through to me and help me begin a life long journey of recovery. I would not be where I am at today without the experience of staying at Caron. I am now in college and aspiring to become a Liscened Professional Counselor because that is how much Caron has inspired me to help people. Also I practice yoga on a daily basis which I was introduced to at Caron and has been incredibly healing for me. The time that I spent at Caron introduced me to a whole new world of acceptance, recovery, self- love, spirituality, and most of all freedom from addiction and my past. Once I left I still committed to years of therapy. But I have put a lot of work in to get to where I am at and Not to sound conceited but I am extremely proud of myself. I give a lot of credit to Caron and the amazing and dedicated people there because they saved my life and I am forever grateful. I hope that anyone who needs help with getting out of a dark place goes straight to Caron because it will transform you. It will not be easy but the people there REALLY care about helping patients and they will make sure that you walk out of there with hope and peace about the future and recovery. thank you Caron for saving my life

After many institutions and doing research out in the streets one thing I am truly grateful for is the drs that didn't push other pills down my throat and diagnose me with other issues , like other places!! Once I came out of the fog and started to work the program (the 12 steps) after detox, I became free and haven't had a drink or a drug since!! Caron will always have a special place in my heart, will always be indebted! Thank you God for the pain and willingness to put one foot in front of another and take Action I truly didn't believe would work... It works!!!

As a psychologist in private practice that works a lot with teens, I am sometimes perforce placed in the position of recommending inpatient or residential treatment centers. Caron is always at the top of my list for teens who are experiencing substance abuse, as well as other struggles (e.g., depression or anxiety). I've seen Caron's successes first hand numerous times over the past several years, and I give them my 100% endorsement. Caron saved my life and my career as a Registered Nurse! They "love you 'til you can love yourself." There's a reason why the locals call it "MAGIC MOUNTAIN." Many famous people have passed to new life through Caron's doors. One very famous rock band built the adolescent unit out of gratitude. Thank you Caron!

I love the people at Caron, They help my son discover himself again and gave us hope. Caron is not a magic pill, it gives you the tools to help you with your recovery and the tools to stay sober. It gives the family the information you need to support the person in recovery. I am grateful to Caron for giving us hope and the tools to create breakthroughs for all of us. Shout out to Allen, he was amazing!!!!
